it is true…they have been convicted of a crime and stripped of everything military. They don’t deserve to be saluted or called by their rank..

That is true because typically they are all Privates and also the term for them is prisoner/inmate and not a rank. You might go the the base brig as a Cpl but if you are going to a military prison you have been convicted at a court martial and you will be a Private since that is part of the punishment.

The salute is obligated to you salute or does p[person return salute or does p[person.
