Do you think Obama’s right? Should Prison Inmates Vote? ?

Elections 17 Comments »
JpCreation101 asked:

Barack Obama is a supporter of giving federal prison inmates the right to vote, he has both stated this and voted this way. What do you think?
Should prison inmates have the right to vote on matters that effect us? They don’t posses the moral compass to keep themselves out of prison but, they should be able to vote?
Who would they vote for? Obama?

Just curious to what people have to say……

Most dangerous types prisoners to be in jail with?

Law Enforcement & Police 10 Comments »
Lucifer1000 asked:

In order which type of prisoner is the most dangerous
Here is my list:

1) Terrorist
2) Murderer
3) Repeated offender of assault
4) ****** - due to the fact they are spending a lengthy amount of time in a prison
5) Drug users
6) Thieves… not really that dangerous only when desperate
7) People guilty of fraud and related crimes

Is this the correct order? and is a convicted terrorist more dangerous to an inmate than a murderer?

Can an inmate be sued for slander? Will he be allowed to get out for hearings?

Marriage & Divorce 2 Comments »
joe L asked:

My son’s father who is incarcerated was given shared legal custody after the mediation hearing. This man is very controlling and very manipulative and wants to control how I raise our son (from prison). He claims he wants whats best for our son but the truth is he’s being very vindictive because I moved on w/ my life and got married. He’s accused my husband of molesting my son and sent a false report to the children and youth svcs which was unfounded after the investigation was conducted. Now, he wrote to the therapist who is seeing our son and to our son’s school stating that my husband is not authorized to sit in any sessions or not to be listed in any school’s information and stated that my husband is a pedophile (w/c is a slander). He’s threatened to sue the school and the therapist if they don’t cooperate w/ him. Can my husband & I sue this man for slander and can I also file an emergency injunction for sole custody because he’s making raising our son very difficult?

What happens if a work release facility revokes an inmate even tough their sentence was to be in work release?

Other - Politics & Government 1 Comment »
Rachael M asked:

I have a situation where some one very close to me was arrested for leaving a work release facility. They were transported to the county jail and the work release facility revoked them. They were charged a fine for leaving the facility. They asked if they were on a waiting list to be transported to a prison and the guard told them no and that work release had a hold on him. Their sentence on the original charge was to be placed in a work release facility to complete the program. I do have power of attorney, I just do not know the right questions to ask.

Marriage and Divorce
Before you take this step, realize that divorce rate among couples where one spouse is incarcerated for one year or more is 85%. Getting married to a prisoner means you will be jumping through a lot of legal hoops and possibly experiencing a lot of heartache.
Difficulty: Hard
Time Required: Varies
Here’s How:
Regulations for marrying a prisoner will vary from prison institution to institution.
Marriage Packet Request. Have your fiance make an inmate request for a marriage packet. Once the forms are completed by both of you, you will need to send it back to the prison facility with the requested fees. (Approximately $150-$175 via money order)
Required Documentation. You will need documentation that you are of legal age to marry, that you are a citizen in the country you wish to marry, and perhaps a copy of your birth certificate or other I.D.
The Family Visiting Coordinator will probably be your contact for arranging the wedding once permission has been received to marry a prisoner.
Choosing an Officiant. The prison should give you a list of approved pastors to choose from. You will need to know in advance what their fees are and be prepared to pay them at the ceremony with a money order.
Other Costs. Ask what the cost of the marriage certificate is too, as you will need a money order for that also.
Witness. You will need a witness, so bring a guest who is on your fiance’s approved visitor list. Or you can use one of the inmates who works in the visiting area.
Time Alone Together. Depending on the prison facility’s regulations, you may be allowed time together after the ceremony for wedding pictures and a short, private visit with one another.
Tips:
The chaplain at the prison will be a good source of information about getting married there.
If your relationship with a prisoner has been only through snail mail or email correspondence, don’t get married!
Before getting married, talk with others who have married prisoners so you have an understanding of how difficult this role may be for you.
Realize that upon your spouse’s release from prison, the two of you will each have to make major life-changing adjustments.
Bottom line. We don’t recommend marrying someone who is in prison. If your love for one another is real, you can wait.
What You Need:
Witness
Money Orders
Permission from prison
Proof of age
Proof of citizenship

so i rather just get engaged until he ge out of prison and for yall to kno its not a stupid decision yall dont kno nun about us all im doin is askin for advice about the question i asked 1st it was Is it a felony to marry someone in prison? no good advice on that question but 1 person…now im asking are we able to just get engaged while he’s in prison or do we just have to get right to it?
DO WE HAVE TO LET THE PRISON KNOW ABOUT THE ENGAGEMENT SO THEY CAN BE CONFIRMED OF IT ALSO

Do you think Taxpayers should have to pay for *** change operations for prison inmates?

Politics 48 Comments »
RLP asked:

WI used to pay for hormonal therapy for inmates until the Republicans cut that from the budget.
NOW, three men are suing for cruel and unusual punishment because the State of Wisconsin won’t pay for their *** change operation. THREE PRISON INMATES!
